It’s almost fall in Chattanooga, TN, and whether you’re cruising to a fall festival, taking the kids apple picking, or just enjoying a cozy weekend at home, now’s the perfect time to plan some fun activities and make the most of the season.

🍎 Differentials Plus Apple Crisp — A Family Favorite

Few things say “fall in Chattanooga” like the smell of baked apples and cinnamon. Apple Crisp is a fan favorite here at Differentials Plus, perfect for a family dessert after a crisp afternoon at the pumpkin patch or farmers market!

Easy Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients:
• 6–8 apples, peeled and sliced
• 1 cup old-fashioned oats
• 1/2 cup flour
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cup white sugar
• 1/2 cup butter, melted
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp nutmeg
• Pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Spread sliced apples in a greased 9×13 baking dish
  3. In a bowl, mix oats, flour, sugars, spices, and salt. Stir in melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle topping evenly over apples.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Serve warm — even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

🎨 Easy Fall Craft for Kids — Leaf Lanterns

There’s just something about fall that sparks creativity, and with cooler weather and rainy days ahead, it’s always good to have a fun project ready for the kids. This simple fall craft is perfect for a weekend afternoon and makes a charming seasonal decoration:

What You Need:
• Mason jars or recycled glass jars
• Real fall leaves or faux leaves
• Mod Podge or white glue
• Foam brush
• Battery-operated tea light

How to Make It:

  1. Brush glue on the outside of the jar.
  2. Press leaves onto the jar and smooth down with more glue.
  3. Let dry completely.
  4. Place a tea light inside — they look beautiful glowing on a fall evening!
